Bumble Bee Balls Recipe

Bumble Bee Balls Recipe

Bee Pollen is pretty amazing. Made by honey bees, it's considered one of nature’s most completely nourishing foods as it contains nearly all nutrients required by the humble homo sapiens. It’s rich in proteins (approximately 40% protein), free amino acids, vitamins, including B-complex, and folic acid. The range of nutrients found within Bee Pollen makes it a great natural energiser. It’s also good for the intestinal flora supporting the immune system.

1 cup of almonds

1 cup of cashews (can also use walnuts or pecans)

6 dates (soak for one hour to remove sugars)

2 tbsp of flax seeds (or chia seeds)

1 tbsp of honey

1 grated carrot

1 tbsp of orange rind

2 tbsp of Bee pollen (for coating)

How to make your Bumble Bee Balls

  1. Process nuts in a processor. Be sure not to process them too finely – a nice crunch is good.
  2. Add the dates, honey, carrot and orange rind to the processor and mix together until the mixture starts to stick together.
  3. Place mixture in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 mins.
  4. Remove mixture and roll into balls (size to your liking).
  5. Coat the balls in bee pollen.

Refrigerate until its snack time.
